Infiniti upgrades G37 sedan for 2010 (Official)

Pricey... so exactly what class is the G? At that price range it seems like it's bumping into GS/5 series territory. I always saw the G as a 3-series/IS contender and the M as the GS's class.
Or is this because it's an "Anniversary" edition?

The IS/IS-C can creep up to GS prices easily with similar options too...

They really update this car often, they always have aggressive rates for it, yet is sells average. I really don't understand the disconnect here, is the brand really lacking that much mojo??. I like the front though it reminds me of the Altima/old Maxima and the rest the vehicle just reminds me of a more bulbous 3GS. I never was a huge fan of the design. The interior now looks old, even with the updates, doesn't seem luxurious.
On paper though, its a stellar machine. 328hp, 7 speed auto, good size interior, trunk, handles well, good options, manual and sport models and AWD.
I don't understand how they don't sell 5k sedans of these every month at least. Do they need a smaller engine or will it just hurt G37 sales?
Truly am a little lost here as this is one vehicle they keep fresh with updates.

I've had (3) G35's, an '04 Coupe, '06 Coupe, and an '08 G35 Sport Sedan. Let me tell you, I have been Infiniti's biggest fan for the last 6 years as the G's were my daily drivers.
When they changed to G37 last year without the refresh, I thought not bad but still not enough to get me to trade my car. I ended up getting out of my car G35 Sedan into an LS430 instead. Recently, I sold my LS and on the prowl for another car. The tempting thing is I can always get a deal with Infiniti as one of my buddies is an Internet manager. I can usually get a grand or two below invoice.
Since Infiniti is clearing up their M line for the new 2011's coming in I was able to get a Hellaish deal on an M35 or 45.. But as I was shopping, I saw the new G refreshed.. Not Bad, Actually pretty Good from their previous front end. Though, the front and a few interior tweaks was all to the change. They actually skimped a little here and there on the audio system. Pretty much the same car, don't be fooled by its pretty front fascia.
In my opinion, I hope i'm not stepping on any ones toes but this car is not worth the new price hike. I've driven this car from Texas to Georgia many times and though it seems roomier than the IS - its not. Though it fun to drive - it lacks refinement. I rather have any Lexus or BMW product before buying an Infiniti again. Its a great car if you can get it under invoice but if you're gonna spend over $40K - I would seriously look at Lexus or BMW as an alternative. Now that I grew out of my Infiniti Adolescent, I can now look seriously into another Lexus or a BMW.

Makes sense, especially if it is fully loaded, and I'm liking the red seats, although it seems to clash with the rest of the interior IMHO. Still, what class is the G? It seems like it tries to do a little bit of both entry level and mid-sized luxury.

The G and the last gen TL were tweeners. Sized similarly to the E/5/GS but priced to compete with the C/3/IS. Doesn't really answer the question, but that's how it is

The G or M will get my vote for a next car. Just bought the new consumer reports and both G and M are rated very high from the paint to the engine.
The negative on the G was cabin space and trunk space.
The negative on the M was road noise..
Still both are great cars and wouldn't mind either one..
