Why design a new car when you can just copy one for much less design cost, how else can they sell that thing so cheap?

Build Your Dream... more like Buy You're Dead. Until a Chinese vehicle comes to the U.S. and is U.S. spec'd to 5 stars, I'll pass on driving these 1st gen. crash test dummy vehicles. Look at the glove box, doesn't even close up right.

Take a 2nd gen. RX and throw the Veracruz rear in and you have the BYD (Bring Your Dough).
