Top Gear: "It might just be the greatest Japanese car ever"
#16
You guys do know that Top Gear Magazine and the Top Gear website are separate from the show. They have mostly different opinions on each car. Case in point the IS-F: It got 17/20 on the Top Gear Website, yet Clarkson trashed it on the show. I hope they praise it, but I have my doubts since Clarkson seems to bash pretty much everything Toyota makes.

In short, for those of you who doesnt want to go through the whole wikipedia article:
Advantages
Despite the complexity involved, a properly designed class-D amplifier offers the following benefits:
Reduction in size and weight of the amplifier,
Reduced power waste as heat dissipation and hence smaller (or no) heatsinks,
Reduction in cost due to smaller heat sink and compact circuitry,
Very high power conversion efficiency, usually ≥ 90%.

Dave, not in the magazine. The review was done by someone else and it was at the "Ring". The episode where the STIG drives it and we find out its "wet lap" time will debut January 3rd.
This is not entirely accurate. Top Gear magazine has editorials from the same big 3, May, Hammond, Clarkson. They also reviews cars in the mag as well and Clarkson has his extra 2 cents on some cars sold in the back with the "new car guide" every issue.
As for the IS-F, they loved it. In the review vs the C63, M3, RS4, the reviewer said it was a tie but if he HAD to take ONLY ONE home, it would be the IS-F. Pretty amazing praise for a Lexus on Top Gear. They loved their long term IS-F secondly.
17/20 is a HUGE score, most score under 13/14 or so every month. Its rare to see cars above that mark.
Yes, the two are different but they are also very related.

& charge even more for it ?
What they REALLY need is hardcore versions of the future 4GS and 3SC, i.e. GS-F and SC-F, and of course, an even better 3IS-F, and maybe an additional smaller and lighter dedicated Lexus(affordable) sports model too ......
