Am impressed with how many people have "entered my world". LOL!! a few year back, I drove straight from Baton Rouge, La to Baltimore, Md (somewhere areound 19 hours, and 1181 miles) straight. I do most of my long distance driving from behind the wheel of an 19 wheeler now, and limit (by law) my trips to no more than 700 miles daily.

Wow great stories so far, especially the guys that rode over 1000 miles on a motorcycle and those who did over 1200 miles driving a car for 20 plus hours. My mpg for the trip was about 30 mpg, and I could go over five hours between gas stops.

I drove about 1200 miles in a day and a half. Flew up to Portland ME for a 95' LS400 and drove back to Athens GA, all by my lonesome. This was about a month and a half ago.
The LS400 made it effortless.

A buddy and I did it in my old Corolla FX-16 driving from Lexington, KY to Carson City, NV (about 2,200 miles) in two days with only a few hours rest during the drive.
My wife and I did a 700 mile return trip from her family's house in Indiana to NC on Monday this week in our LS430, a much more comfortable ride except 85% the roads were snowy and slick which made for a much slower and more tense drive. No stops except gas, chipping ice off the lights and PCS and restrooms.
Audiobooks on the iPod via our Vaistech and heated seats after ice removal duty were my favorite features.

No, I don't play soccer!
I did my fair share a few years back. I used to travel home for the holidays when I lived in Denver, 1,507 miles door to door in about 27-28 hours. I'd rent a car for the trip since I had a small 5 speed car at the time. I also traveled to the high plains and southwest a few times. Turned in the rental with over 6,000 miles in less than two weeks.

Never had to drive more that 800 miles. Did the 800+miles in about 12 hours to pick up an sc from jersey and a few times to houston to visit my sister. I'd rather drive alone when i'm going on a long trip. I can just zone out and drive

I've done two:
Key West to northern Atlanta burbs, just over 1K in a 1984 Toyota Celica GT, little over 11 hours, cruise control set at 95mph for 9+ hours (yes, it's true, had radar and drove thru FL leaving at 12 midnight, 3-car caravan, spring break '87 return)
South of Atlanta to north of Milwaukee WI in a 1996 Honda Accord EX, 16+ hours, bleary-eyed and driving in budding snow storm last 2 hours
Accord was much more comfortable
Would I do it again? Maybe, at those speeds ... but only if I had an officer of the law riding shotgun.... but if I, say, flew to Atlanta and drove back in a new car .. then... sure I would

I've done it on a motorcycle and now I'm a certified member of the Iron Butt Association of America (The World's Toughest Riders).

Some would say that I'm cheating because my bike has cruise control, heated seats, heated grips, XM radio, 6 disc CD changer, abs....
