I think just 6-8 months ago these were listed at around $400k. Now slightly used ones are going for as low as $250k. I bet you can still take another 20-30k off that price. Who knows maybe you can get one for close to 200k.

Honestly, that just goes to show the economy. Not every expensive car will retain its value, if anything, most of them will depreciate faster than a Pontiac. I am sure it will level out eventually, as I doubt we can get one in 20 years for $40k, but it is all about supply and demand. Nobody was looking for a $400K SL in the first place.

Er. . . half right.

CLK Black was a little over $100K.

SL63 starts at $135K

SL65 starts at $195K

SL65 Black is $300K

Nope. I believe we are talking about the 2009 SLR (or older) which is about $500K retail.

The 2010 SLR Stirling Moss is Euro only - all 75 of them.

I was thinking the same thing.LOL. In all seriousness , right now is a great time to be in the market for a car. The highend cars are falling in price than the standard kind of vehicles

Don't confuse the regular SL65 AMG with the similiar, but more sophisticated Mercedes McClaren. Brand-new McClarens went for around 500K (plus dealer markups)....they are more likely to be selling for 250K-400K used than regular SL65's.
