Vehicle comparo (Philippine context): Lexus IS300 versus MB C350

Interesting comparison.
I wouldn't really call the C class a "sport sedan". It's sporty and capable in that regard but this aspect of driving is not really its focus. I think the guys at Mercedes know exactly what sells their C class and what buyers are looking for in this car.
In end effect both cars compared here are good at what they do - neither are winners nor losers in this comparison. I wish there were magazines out there that compared cars for what they are but didn't rank them in terms of 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I've always felt the ranking system is completely worthless because no two cars from different manufacturers can ever really be alike. A Lexus IS and MB C class will always differ because, face it, both companies know exactly what their clients want and expect.

Rankings are worthless to me. I do my own rankings as needed.

Yup. Mag racers will say it needs better engines but buyers clearly think its just fine. The C-class continues to be a hot seller for Mercedes.
