According to Insideline, Infiniti will release a 2.5L Turbo V6 version for the G series sedan (only at this time):

This is most likely in preparation for the upcoming CAFE standard revisions, but it's exciting that turbocharging will finally be coming back to the Skyline-based cars and be an alternative to the BMW 335i's. Since asymmetrical turbo-charging on a V6 is pretty complex, maybe this will be a twin-turbo alternative (let's hope)? Even if it's not as tuneable as say the VG30DETT's of yesteryears, I still like the idea of a lighter weight, lower displacement, RWD, turbocharged powertrain that gets better gas mileage than the 3.7L VHR's....

Inside Line has learned from an unnamed high-ranking source within Nissan that Infiniti will launch a turbocharged version of its popular G sedan in the fall of 2010. The entry-level model will be called the G25 and will use the 2.5-liter V6 Nissan uses in the Japan-market Skyline 250GT (The Infiniti G is sold in Japan as the Nissan Skyline.)
At launch, the smaller turbo engine will be in the G sedan only and be sold alongside the naturally aspirated V6-powered G37. The idea is that the lower entry price and improved fuel economy of the turbocharged engine will give Infiniti more head-on competition for the popular BMW 328i.
In Japan the normally-aspirated engine is rated at 210 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, which is competitive with the 3.0-liter inline-6 in the BMW, which is rated at 230 hp and 200 lb-ft. We expect the turbocharged version to be closer to 250hp.
As of now, a G25 coupe and convertible are not planned, but if sales are brisk on the G25 sedan, both will happen.

Blog FAIL.
This was discussed at length on the blogs yesterday. Edmunds and Autoblog screwed up.
There currently is no turbo version of the 2.5L V6 in the Skyline. They're referring to an engine that saw duty last in 2001 or something.
The Skyline 250 is NA.
There is no way in hell that Infiniti is bringing a turbo 2.5 here. It would make no sense. It would be just as expensive, if not more expensive, to produce than the G37, and there would be almost nothing between the two performance-wise. The rumored "G25" is supposed to be an entry-entry-level compete with vehicles like the base Audi A4 or IS250.
However, I like this news as I have always been a fan of having smaller engine choices in a daily driver, always thought it was cool that relatively big cars in Europe and Japan could have their choice of smaller engines if someone wasn't totally hung up on acceleration and wanted instead a cheaper buying price and better economy.
I hope the G25 comes to the US with a 6-speed manual an a price not much higher than $30K. It should be at least $2000 cheaper than the G37.

Nissan knows how to build solid turbo motors. I am excited to see them work the new G25T when its released. I am sure like the 4 cylinder turbo in the genesis this thing will be tuneable beyond the NA version

People generally think Turbos are cheaper to make than a larger displacement engine. The truth is most car companies have to spend money on the tuning, cooling, and maintenance issues of the turbocharged car. Look how many stock turbo cars are available from American Manufacturers. There are very, very few now. It is a complex system versus just boring out a big block engine. I think that is why BMW took so long to release the 335i.
