Toyota rarely make frivolous concepts. And even rarer, are vehicles that they test rigorously for years on end.

And a lot of speculation in between. This car has been evolving for a while now. They trashed the +2 seats from the CS&S and put in place of the I4 a V6. They can't possibly have been testing this car for so long just to go nowhere with it. There is an interview with Naruse on the Gazoo racing site (japanese version). Google translation is sloppy, but from what I gather, he has been working on the dynamic of the car and it will be released "when it's ready".

Don't look at the MRS platform and the MZ engine. I'm pretty sure that bit is just for testing purposes.
