The thing that burns the most, is that it will probably be selling for more than a million or 2 in the next 20 years....

I believe Lexus said that it was done so the really race oriented buyers wouldn't have that extra weight

Really, you think that if the LFA cost 2 million dollars each and Lexus would still pre-sell all 500 of them?

The LFA is amazing, but a buyer is as much interested in the exclusivity of it as they would be the performance.

Anyone ever see the South Park where Cartman buys a theme park, and runs commercials about how awesome it is, but that YOU can't get in!?

I think of the LFA like that. "It's $400,000, but you can't just buy one even if you had the money."

Lexus knows what they are doing.

Easily possible.

The rest of my post described some of the wealth out there. For millions of people, $400K can be found between their couch cushions. It's literally like spending $20 for the rest of us.

It's just a matter of whether or not they desire the LFA.

Well Bugatti veyron's sell around 73 per year and that is $500,000 less than the 2 million dollars that you believe that the LFA could fetch if they asked for it.. No way the LFA could sell for 2 million dollars..what does it do better than a Veyron?

And Billionaires and millionaires unless they are car enthusiasts aren't spending 2 million on a car!

If Bugatti said that only 1000 Veyron's would be sold total, then all 1000 would be sold in a short amount of time. His point is that luxury buyers love exclusivity. They could care less about the specs. So if there was a $2million car that was only available in a small quantity luxury buyers would snap it up...

It's not about if the LFA is even worth it. It's supply and demand.

Charge "only" $400K for a car that still doesn't do much more than some much less expensive cars and they pre-sell the whole production run before production even gets going.

I personally think that Lexus should build more, not necessary have had a higher price. One or the other, it's either too cheap or too scarce.

In business, the idea is to make as much profit as possible. Lexus, in this case, chose to build a short lived status car. They are giving away the opportunity to make money. Maybe they could have sold 1,000 at the same price. Or, they could have charged even more.

I expect the LFA to be known by real enthusiasts, more Porsche CGT and Mclaren F1 and Pagani Zonda than a car anyone knows of like Ferrari and Lambo....

Doubt any rappers know about it.

I'll give $1,000 to the first owner who personally does the NAV hack on his LFA.

In the next 20 years. The 2000GT was limited to 3xx cars. Cost $7k when it was released($say 45K in today's money). More expensive than the Jag E-Type. It sells for $300-$400K today. You really don't think the LFA could go for $2 mil in 20 years?

Not even going to bother. Cry me a river. I wish CL & this thread still exist in 20 yrs.
