You make a good point on the Century V12, but Toyota could develop a new one or perhaps a a twin-turbo V8 or just something.

The HybridLS600h is not taken seriously in uber sedan market. Cleary, if BMW and Merc can offer them, then there is a market for them.

Cool

The LS is not tested why bring it up? I mean goodness after 20 years there is a sport kit. Give it a rest. Yes I would love to see a v12...

Then only the BMW is a v-12 in this comparo...(yes s65 is offered buy do u expect lexus to builds competitor? It has none!!)

For me all 3 are winners no losers here. I think the S63 looks menacing but the interior leaves me very cold.

The Panamera is ugly but look at the performance. Not even close. And the hatch is useful! Interior is great! The car is smaller but 500 lbs lighter WITH Awd.

Panamera for me

my flagship ranking

1. S
2. 7
3. Qauttroporte
4. LS
5. XJ
6. A8
7. panamera

A8 used to be one of my favorite, but Audi totally blew it this time. If i wanted a porsche, I would just get a 911. If I want to feel like a king, I'll get an S. If i had about 85k to spend, i'll get a 750i.

Like I said in my previous post a V12 would be great and if Toyota wanted to they could make a V12 LS.

But in this comparo the V12 sedan LOST to the V8 sedan

I would also take the S63, my dream sedan. I too wish I could afford one, but then again, when I am 40 I should be able to afford this model.

i like the 750li, not the 760li..waste of money IMO.

no one NEEDS to push these 30foot cars to the limit, i dont see ANYONE pulling any stunts with the 7 series around here.
so luxurious, why rape the engine?

IMO another bad comparo, simply because the cars don't match up very well. I prefer S600 vs 760Li. They are both V12 Bi-Turbo (sure MB cost bit more, but MB usually does). And why does the driver say the MB (interior) style is older when the 7-Series basically looks like 2002 version to me??? The Panamera natural competitor to Qauttroporte. The new XJ-L Supersport looks really nice...

Seems like the review was to drive the sportiest offerings from the brands in this segment, thus the S63 included and not the S600.

It would be great to see a review where they both are included instead of the usual picking one they feel is best.

The MB interior is still clearly influenced by the last 7 series, I assume that is what the writer is talking about.

As Cj mentioned, the Toyota group already has a V12. However why totally re-engineer/re-design the V12 for a car that won't generate much volume and shouldn't sell for more than $150k?
The 1GZ is basically 2 1JZ engines stuck together but with aluminum rather than cast iron block. Probably do some head work, dual VVT-i, Direct Injection and slap two turbos on it. Good to go.

Then again, basing it on the 1LR would lend for a much more compact engine....

I really couldn't see myself in a Panamera. I'm still trying to reconcile my feelings towards Porsche for building it .

I am an admitted Porsche nut so I can do their ugly I've followed the car and again the engineering for this sedan is 2nd to none in regards to making it sporty. It would need an immediate drop with 22" wheels and be done in black.

The new 7 series looks pretty good in person and great in black but to me doesn't look any fresher than the LS and it is brand new.

The S63/65 in black have so much presence it is not even funny. That car speaks parked with the engine off. It is just mafioso badass. The brakes are the size of small children.
