IMO, the exterior design is nice, but the interior is a bit too 80's retro, I preferred the prior sweeping E interior.

Just got off the phone with my mom, and she finally made a decision largely influenced by my dad. She decided to go with a pre-owned CL550. She didn't give me too many details, but said my dad convinced her to get a used one so someone else can take the depreciation. Plus it was way more car for only a little more money. The dealer negotiated with them b/c they were paying cash. Next time im home i'll get some pics of it and put them up. Her buying used didn't surprise me b/c my dad refuses to buy new cars. My mom on the other hand goes back and forth. First she wants that new car feel and smell, then she thinks more realisticly. I'll keep everyone updated, and I can't wait to drive it for myself ha.

I only have an opinion about the E-Class looks since I have no experience sitting in or driving one.
I like the looks. It's sorta wedgy but it's modern, sporty and classy. Not beautiful but attractive. Especially with a nice set of wheels and drop. I've seen them modded and thought it was something I could definitely drive.
I'm biased toward coupes but biased against German crap-mobiles that always need the services of the service dept.
Although I like the E, I would prolly go for the A/S5 over it because it is much more attractive.

I guess someone can't read. The old generation CL had the 5.0 in it hence it was the CL500. The new generation is the 5.5 hence the name CL550. Just to clarify the car is a 2008.

it's just another "stereotype" of clk drivers (not factual)... in fact one of my closest (male) friends drive 2008 CLK550, and complains it's a chicks car, and we have fun with it... car just doesnt look agressive, thats all (but the performance on his CLK550 is Killer)!

Glad to hear she's happy with her decision.

BUT... since we are talking about V8 coupes...

The Audi A5/S5 imo is the best car in this class by far. The interior is impeccable. The exterior is just beautiful. The V8 might be a little underpowered, but the Audi wins every other category.

It certainly turns more heads than the other cars mentioned.
