I believe he meant the open highway. Interstate 40 or interstate 80 is pretty much open in certain states and you can go and go without much traffic...

The clutch on my Acura Legend went to at least 150K on the original clutch. Don't know how much further it went since I sold the car, but I drove it hard, and live in a lot of stop and go traffic. I can see if an owner drove really long distances between states on the mainland the clutch maybe could last that long. I mean, the guy drives very long distances if he has that many miles on a 2000. I thought my 2003 with 130K miles was very high miles.

A big Honda lover? Yes and no. I have a lot of respect for Honda's build quality and relibility (as this thread shows), but, for my purposes............

Yep...you've done a good job summarizing it.....so you don't need my review.

117k miles later and I have a car that I don't have to worry about whether or not it will start on a cold morning...or any morning, afternoon, or night.

I thought I wandered into a "luv-fest Subie" forum. Even if it's off-topic, my mother would be pleased because she owns a Subie.

Its their auto gearboxes from the older generation that had problems. Mostly with heat.

100k on a civic is nothing... I had a 92 civic with 270k, which is still low mileage if you do your research.. lol I drove it to san diego from Philly averaging 75-80mph and it averaged 35mpg all the way... Its usually the 5spd hondas with the abnormal high miles..

Really, that's actually very low mileage for an '03.

That's subjective, but 130K miles for an 03 is over 18K miles per year which is over the US average for annual mileage.
