By it being so rare, i would think that will set it up to be sort of a classic for Lexus enthusiast sometime in the future IMO. I would love to find one in fair condition to restore for fun.

 

Friend in Edison, she has the first year ES250 and still loving it. I think she's probably in excess of 275K with original engine and transmission. Regular dyno no synthetic either. Cloth interior and probably worse than a modern Camry, but it's still running and she loves it. Size is fine with her.

 

definitely the es300. we had ours for up till almost 200k miles (MY '92). usual maintenance, everything was changed at the right time, and so reliable. we were sad to give it up, but for a 200k car hitting almost 2 decades, we had to cash in on the cash for clunkers program.

Yep, just like I wrote above, it keeps breaking its own records. "The 2006 Lexus LS 430 received a record-setting index score for problem-free ownership, setting the best performance in the history of the Vehicle Dependability Survey. In its final year before a complete redesign, the 2006 LS 430 carried over from 2005 with no significant modifications."

And it's important to keep in mind that this is the 3-year ownership survey, not a vague, subjective one such as an "Initial Owner Satisfaction" survey.

 

2006 IS250 184,000 miles and counting with just a simple tune up and oil changes........BTW I have a lead foot from time to time.
