I am sure the next LS Hybrid will tone it down a level to better compete with the S-Class Hybrid more head on. Especially on pricing.
I don't think the LS600hL will ever compete with the S400, but I wouldn't be surprised if Lexus added another lesser hybrid model to the LS line to compete with not only the S400 but also the new I6 BMW 7 series.

A V6 hybrid LS would do well to compete with both, and a higher level prestige LS600hL should still be offered to compete with the V12 competition.

And this why I don't consider the Hybrid LS all that great of hybrid, yes it is great technology and a stunning achievement but it just costs way too much and is kind of pointless at that price range. For the money it is more of a V12 competitor, although the V12 BMW and V12 Mercedes come out on top because they don't offer a faux V12 like the LS600h.

Wow the worlds first V-8 AWD hybrid with worlds first LEDs and other firsts is not that impressive. No the car that comes 4 years after is impressive.

Thanks for the vid. Their conclusion is both are superb vehicles.

Both hybrids, totally different in execution.

The S400 is the entry level S-class here.
The LS 600h L is the top of the line LS.

The S400 is a V-6
The LS is a V-8

The S400 has a small ion battery
The LS has bigger traditional hybrid batteries

The S400 is RWD
The LS is AWD

I disagree. MB S class ripped of BMW's 7 interior and audi's LEDs and following lexus hybrid
Nevertheless, still a great flagship.

I think that the price of this vehicle is the best part.

And you could make the same arguement about the LF-A. Yet people are willing to spend alot of money on these vehicles. Thus, why wouldn't Toyota offer them?

S400 is just horrible though... it is an mild hybrid with crazy hybrid price added... Glorified start/stop system. Its only good for tricking European mileage tests...
