i just asked a guy in a bimmer forum and he confirmed that Chris Bangle was a chief designer for E46. i got my info from there. i never questioned them lol. now my view on Bangle is different if he didn't do E36. because E36 is my favorite car of all time. lol i had one and i loved it.

and someone said, it was Luthe who started E39, but bangle finished it.
it would great if anyone can provide me some bmw history with chief designers and etc. couldn't find any.
anyway, i know many people find 7 series ugly. i can understand that. i thought it was ok. it definitely was a revolutionary though. i applaud bangle for that. but 5? i still love it.

I finally figured out what the new Sportage reminds me of: the Audi Q7.
Both have large wheels/low profile tires, shallow wheel wells, and high beltlines making them look taller than they actually are. It also makes them look like they are likely to tip over.
