Default thoughts on purchasing a CPO Cayman S.......

These cars are becoming available in the mid to high 30's....thinking of dumping the wife's TT in favor of one of these.

notes: 6 speed manual only and only with the 19's.

Hard to go wrong there. As with any Porsche purchase buy the newest model you can as Porsche does practice a relentless pursuit of perfection.

Love the Cayman. Does she like the looks? It will clearly be slower but it should feel more balanced.

If you're going to spend high 30s, put another 7 or 8 with that and get a 997. You'll end up selling the Vette....

As long as it's CPO, extend the Porsche warranty to the length of planned ownership (expensive problems can crop up). Sweet drivers cars, I've owned 2 Boxsters and enjoyed them both.

Once she goes out of warranty, consider dropping $10K + install for this and go Corvette and M3 hunting:

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/29/q...ayman-s-turbo/

The result is the TPCRacing Cayman S Turbo Kit. Producing around 485 horsepower, it's packing more ponies than – until recently – nearly any vehicle in Porsche's lineup, save the GT2. And that's only with 5.5-pounds of boost. With such a low amount of pressure, the turbo kit puts barely any additional stress on the stock internals of the 3.4-liter flat-six.

I have been looking into this and pre-owned M3s as well.... and now more so considering Madoka's comments...

Economy's state and incredible pre-owned deals have changed the landscape... spring is ALMOST here...
