What is the reasoning then of calling the Mark X slow? It achieved the fastest time attack lap out of all the cars. How is that slow?

Well it is kind of secondary when one comes in (let's just say, not in first).

A time attack is as relevant, because of course driver performance will play a part in the overall finishing order in a race. Now were Tsuchiya or Gan-san driving the Mark X, yeah... i'd say it was slow.

The final lap times were close, and did you notice the Mark X started last? Ever think maybe that made a difference too? If the Mark X started first and had one of the better drivers behind the wheel, I guarantee it would not have finished last.

The Toyota MarkX is a quietest of the bunch on acceleration. All of the cars in the vid seem to be lacking a sport package of some sort?

Maybe, maybe not. We're not in the business of predicting alternate realities so in this race it came in where it came in. The BMW clawed its way from the back and did quite well for itself. I doubt that the Mark X could have maintained a lead in the front since it seemed to consistently fall further and further back as the race went on.

Something that having a better driver behind the wheel would have addressed. The BMW did not belong in that comparison anyways. It was lighter than the other cars, and had a better power-to-weight ratio giving it an advantage over the other cars. It was also smaller allowing for more agile handling.
