I thought the 6 series is the replacement for the 8?

Anyway, didn't know the is M8 exist! Looks amazing! Almost bought one 5, 6 yrs ago, but got scared of the maintenance and repair cost

Gee, what a beauty, 8-Series I would go down as the best looking Beemers for me.

One of my neighbors up my street has a black 850i. So fresh, and looks amazing in person.

Love the 8-series; there's one I see from time to time around my area, but I've never had the opportunity to talk to the driver.

One of the best looking BMWs IMO. There are a couple that come out to our local Cars and Coffee regularly, but they don't seem to have been particularly well cared (sad).

It was never built and seems they trashed the only M8 prototype.

I've never understood why BMW has never done a supercar. (No, the M1 wasn't designed by BMW, it was a Lambo project that BMW took over due to Lambo's financial difficulties).

I'm in agreement with most here that the 8 series was a special car. I can't fathom why they wouldn't have produced this beast. It could have gone down as a legacy vehicle.

It certainly would have run with the best from Ferrari and the others at the time

Timing...

BMW took too long to get this thing in production. The R&D was like no other car BMW had built and it cost them a ton of time and money.

By the time it was "ready", the market for SuperCars had crashed.

Ive got a rare book that was never "for sale" (only BMW engineers had it) that details just about everything that went into creating it...very impressive and makes me love them even more.

*I paid an arm and a leg for this book

thats quite a collector's item

as for the 850's V12, it never put out much power but the way it delivered it...
it is a shame most 8 series i see nowadays are not in pristine condition
