I'm sure it's a great car and dose a lot of things well for what it's suppose to do. But they need to fire the design team. If ugly is what they are aiming for then I guess they met their goal.

Somebody in Subaru's PR department (or autoblog) screwed up. That image is not a concept. It's a conventional, U.S.-market 2009-2010 Outback Sport.........right out of Subaru's paper brochure (I know....I have the brochures).

its based on Impreza.... probably thats why it is being marketed in Europe as new model (i would guess Outback Sport is not sold there).

i'm just really pissed off at Subaru because the old RS2.5 was one of my fav cars then after the whole new redesign, those cars just went to hell with it's looks. If they can make something that looks good, i'm sure their sales will jump. buyers pay top dollar for looks first than anything else..

The Japanese got completely allergic to coupes after the 1990s, but I would love to see an Impreza coupe again. Guess we'll have to wait for the Toyobaru FT-86 thing.
The 2010 WRX Limited is nice. HIDs, leather, plus all the regular WRX goodness for $29K. That's a helluva car for a great price.

No. Aside from a few hard-core WRX/STi fans, that's generally not the case with Subaru. Subies sell primarily for their superb AWD systems, their reliability, and the ability to combine SUV-like traction with car-like driving manners. That's why the company has stayed successful, despite some quirky-looking designs....and why it will continue to be successful despite the new Impreza's looks.
