visibility is reduced for cars using the swept rear designs of many modern cars. This car is clearly designed for older people that need the visibility, there are plenty of other vehicles that younger people can choose from.

Can the Avalon breakout of it's sales rut of 1K-2K units per month?

It looks like something that was designed in the 80's.

because it is BIGGER AND MORE COMFORTABLE AND LUXURIOUS THAN CAMRY AND A LOT LESS THAN ES?

Or someone can buy an Corolla? Or Yaris sedan... 3's Yarii for the price of Avalon!

Because it's for a market of 60 year old drivers...

they should recall 2011 Avalon!!!!

;-).

It is an FMC - redesign... Not sure why would you expect lexus like navi control for old people? Interior is very nice, very different from before, including much improved navi... Engine is the same (why wouldnt it be?) and it got 6 speed multi-mode transmission for even better mpg.

What exactly do you want from this car? They obviously want to keep selling it to same public.

I'd definitely take this over the LaCrosse, Taurus, or Maxima.

Genesis is in a different class and is of course superior, but that's a moot point.
not everyone has the same taste, i take the Maxima, Taurus SHO amd Lacrosse over Avalon/ES

also take last gen Avalon over new Avalon, last time i check the Genesis is running with GSs, 5 and E classes Benz

Haha I agree with you. This updated Avalon is ok for it's core market.

I think they should introduce an I4 model down the road to increase sales since most old people don't need 260+hp

genesis is different car, this competes with azera which just got refresh as well...
...last gen avalon had awful interior and worst rated navi in the industry. this interior looks like GX one quality wise. I think it is only toyota sedan that does not get all plastic glove department.

i would not buy it ever, but should i want to buy car designed for people in 50's-60's?

design wise on exterior, only thing i like are crazy back LEDs... gives me hope for future LED placement in other Toyota cars.

they really did save a lot of money, calling this a "redesign".....

half the body panels are the same as the 2006 model.

What a terribly dated design. Toyota design is the worst.

2010 design = 80s design with a few bulges and curves.

Worse than Honda and Mitsubishi, Mazda, BMW and some of Nissan?

Exactly

I think the new LaCross leaps a head of this. I'd personally take the Maxima over this, without hesitation, but is a little less of a direct competitor, as the Maxima promotes itself as "sporty".
