Now tell me, is this really leaps ahead of the Avalon dash cluster? This is an ergonomic nightmare.

I'm not buying a dash, I'm buying a car. Given the choice of a brand new LaCrosse, and an Avalon which is almost a 5 year old design, in this class, I'm going with the LaCrosse.

The Lacrosse is just like any other Buick...ends up in rental fleets for all the major car companies. Resale value for Buicks aren't that great compared to the rest. Good luck with that.

Choosing between the Avalon and LaCrosse is like deciding if I want to have a titty twister or get my face slapped. They're both painful and ugly to think about, and I really couldn't choose which way I'd want to be punished.

Once again, avalon and that buick are designed to attract completly different types of buyers.... there is no size one fit all. people who avalon is designed for could not turn on audio on that buick.

This thread is almost as boring as the Avalon, and Toyota is aware of this.

You are a 100% right. The Avalon is aimed at a specific target...however, that is no excuse to make a crap redesign

Only problem I see for Toyota is that the target market for the Avalon is... shrinking.

Too bad they didn't use the redesign as a chance to answer the LaCrosse, but I'm thinking that like others have said their going to phase the Avalon out.

But I find it curious that they've been teasing with the Crown on the concept product page for the past few years now, but have never really announced anything on it. Maybe the Crown will come to battle the Genesis?

The Avalon is fine. For what it is, it is damn near perfect.

The problem with Avalon is not Avalon itself, but the fact that competition has caught up, and Avalon is no longer an obvious choice. Theres still market for it though, and it will do just fine.
