Umm I think you need to stop the false facts you have been fabricating lately.

Calty has two design centers which are seperate of TTC. These facilities are for the exterior design of the car. The locations are down here in SoCal at the original location in Newport Beach and the newest studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

TTC USA is a whole different sector which handles R&D for Toyota in North America. It has operations in SoCal, Michigan and Arizona. Calty and TTC work together but they are two different divisions in Toyota.

This thread has gone WAY off topic.

Thanks flipside909, I wasn't sure if Calty and TTC were integrated or not...that's why I said, they may have been...I didn't have time to find out so I appreciate it that you posted the link.

Yes I agree...

I don't think Lexus has ever used a name like Sport for one of their cars...The Highlander has Sport model....

Lexus has used the "Sport Design" trim designation previously in the Gen 1 IS and Gen 2 GS and Gen 3 ES and of course most recently the "F-Sport" accessory line.

I learn something new everyday. I thought the LS was the first.

Speaking of the LS 460 Sport and perhaps crazy chops, Theophilus Chin has come up with a LS-F rendering:

Lexus did use the term "Sport Cross" for a 5-door hatchback version of the IS300, but it sold poorly here in the American market and was pulled after a couple of years.

Sorry, RXSF....looks like we both posted the same thing at the same time, not realizing that each other was doing so.

The more I think about it to hear/read Lexus LS and sport together sounds really rediculous. Its like the Cadillac DTS offering a sport version.

Well, Caddy, not long ago, DID offer slightly stiffer, more sport-orientated versions of the DeVille/DTS that they called the Concours. So why is it so strange for Lexus to do the same with the LS?

I myself think that a car like the LS (and DTS) should be the epitome of softness, luxury, and comfort, and not sport, but, obviously, not all agree.

Unfortunately for Cadillac, the fading DTS doesn't compare or compete with LS.

Because I strongly feel the the same as you do ^^ and why I find it strange/awkward/alien that they would offer a sport trim. Granted they can do what the crap they want with/to the car, if they decided to call it a sport coupe my response would be the same

Not my argument whats so ever, but I agree..

Why is that? What you're implying is that it is ridiculous for Mercedes to sport badge an S-Class and BMW to do the same for a 7 series.
