All-new Nissan Patrol unveiled in the UAE
#31
I drove a company-leased Patrol in Abu Dhabi/Dubai a lot of years ago, and although it was very "utilitarian", not to say "agricultural" in appearance, it was comfortable, dead reliable, and would go just about anywhere you pointed it. For two months I made customer calls, even delivered a couple of big loads of oilfield parts in the mid-to-large-size wagon. My impressions were of a highly refined LR with a far better paint job, nicer seats, and a relatively powerful engine. It was no speed merchant, as befits something with the aerodynamics of an outhouse, but it was a VERY nice ride.
I was extremely disappointed it was never imported to the US, and there were no plans for Nissan to do so.

The FX has vents too. Seems to be an awful trend for many cars, slap on a chrome or silver vent on the side.
The more I look at both and see all the chrome and exaggerated features inside and out it seems like a Japanese Escalade. Maybe they will make the QX the top of the line vehicle and hope people buy it for its flash and have it trickle down the lineup. While people might not like the Escalade's image, it has done wonders for Cadillac.
To me though the pics of the QX do seem like a good evolution of the current model, the one thing missing is the curved roof and the tailights are bigger.
Why do they keep debuting the Nissan versions first, then the Infiniti versions after??. They just did this to the M37/56/Fuga...it was shown in PUBLIC at Tokyo before LA.

I wonder if the Armada is going away. I definitely don't think the Patrol should be sold here as an Armada replacement. It's too upscale and would diminish the image of the QX.

It is illegal, that's all I can say. lol. Nobody cares anyways.
It's not that you will see a guy walking his pet tiger in public.
Here's a picture of the white Nissan owner with 2 wild cats.
