I worked for a custom limo shop, the LX470 was one of the most popular, just like you said, some places do exceptional jobs, some don't, I remember cutting the car in half, and the only structural integrity we put back was a floor, that was nothing more then punched out sheet metal, and the side supports where nothing more then steel tubing, we used then in 20 foot lengths, probably no stronger then a wooden 2x4, the steel tube was a mounting point, and in fact, these limos, that rolled out of the shops with 100k price tags had no crash protection at all.

After that job, the place was eventually shut down, but I never really ride in limos, I would prefer to not get in something so unsafe
