I'm in love.

My guesstimation on the price will be about $80K.

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/22/o...450-hp-4-2l-v/

4.2l V8 from the RS4, 450hp and 317 ft lb of torque. Frankly I kind of expected it to have more power than that.

450hp has been rumored for some time....that isn't even a 10% lift in power as the RS4 has 420hp.

Torque is okay but not great (due to high revving). IS-F has 376lbs for instance.

Still a fantastic car though.

well if this car is to compete with the c63 and m3, then the numbers sound about right. it falls into that category anyway. they can't really boost it up more, it just won't reach the m6 league (as is the price is going to be shocking already). too bad no MT

and there's no plan to bring this car over to the US yet? wtf???

450hp is sweet...317lb-ft is a little less so. None the less I am really digging the RS5.

this is a high rev engine (look at the redline), that kind of tq number is pretty impressive already. you can't expect the kind of tq from c63

In most practical cases, I am a torque-fan so something like the C63 or ISF makes me drool a little. I respect the engineering that Audi put into this engine, and the redline is awesome, but different strokes for different folks

"potent 444-horsepower 4.2-liter V8 FSI engine generates 317 pound-feet of torque and is mated to Audi's seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission"

No V10?????

Base price= $105K= FAIL!!!!!

You can't get a R8 for 75-80k.

You recall incorrectly as the RS4 was 75k AFTER options and the RS4 convertible was 80k after options. Base price of 90k would be too much for a RS5. Then it would cost close to E63, M5/M6, Masterati, 911 S, etc. I think they will price it around 80-85k fully loaded.

errr, i thought by now you'd realize that prices from different countries don't really compare to each other?

still, at 85k fully loaded for rs5 (assume that's true), i think that's still too much money for a coupe (not even convertible). considering that a really really loaded m3 coupe it's about 70k i believe

I know Henry, just wanted to use big font... but still, load it "decently" and we're still talking north of $90K US... and I'll take your M3 over it ALL DAY LONG

Well, thats assuming the RS5 has "only" 450 hp with a V8. Then I would say 80k should be the max price. But if somehow this car has a V10 with close to 480-500 hp then It can cost 85-90k.

Nah man. Check the link above. It's official. V8 450hp.

What a beautiful car! I love the S5 and this takes it to another level. It'll sit oh so pretty on the flat bed on its way to the dealer for repairs.

As with all Audi products, I'm not holding my breath on the price. I expect it to be priced above competitors. 75-85k sounds about right.
