Personally..........I don't care which is best.......as long as it is leather hehe

Unless of course you guys prefer cloth seats on your top-end luxury car

P.S.
What are these:
1) Semi-aniline leather
2) Alcantara

???

Piping is awful on car interiors

Double-stitched is my preference.

What are these:
1) Semi-aniline leather
2) Alcantara
1) This is Lexus's upgraded leather. Something about it being dyed a little less so that it is more durable and softer.

2) some type of suede feeling and looking material that is usually used as headliners or trim parts.

Double stitched looks most luxurious but piped has more character.

I don't particularly like piping either. I'd also opt for double-stitched if I were given the choice.

But I don't know which is more luxurious. To me it's a function of the entire interior and how it's all put together. But I'm more of a sporty-look fan over the luxurious-look.

double stitching... contrast stitches is a bonus. Piping works but only with a limited number of vehicles. Jaguar comes to mind. The Venza's contrast piping is unique (esp. for a NA Toyota) and it works well imo but it's hard to pull it off. DS is a lot easier. (say black with white DS for sporty luxury or black with red DS for sporty period).

I like both and think both are equally luxurious WHEN DONE PROPERLY. Either can have the opposite effect if done in a poor manner.

In regards to Lexus I liked the piping on the IS 300 Sportdesign for instance and I like the double stitching used in the Passionate Black GS.....

I see i se. Thanks for the explanation

Still, what do you think is the best automotive seating material of all time???

@1SICK
I agree with you in that it all depends on the implementation. It's how the manufacturer uses the material which will determine if it's good or bad.........though in my case, I probably won't care haha

@Jaguar
Yup Jaguar did a fantastic job merging all times in their seat upholstery

Piping looks ok when new, but once it starts cracking, its awful.

Double stitching for me.
