Have you had a chance to drive one? If not, I strongly recommend a test-drive of the 3.8 Track model. Though its interior is more cheaply done and not the equal of the Genesis sedan, and its ride is borderline stiff, the overall similiarity of its steering/drivetrain/chassis to a good BMW 3-series coupe is remarkable. Hyundai has done a superb job with the engineering on this car. If you were blindfolded, and simply driving by feel alone, you virtually can't tell the drivetrain and road manners on this car from its BMW competition. I can't remember the last time I've ever said that about a non-BMW product (maybe some 80's-vintage Mazdas), and defintely not from a Korean manufacturer.
You may or may not agree with me on the BMW-feel, but I think you will definitely enjoy driving it. If I were in the market for a RWD coupe, this would probably be #1 on the list....especially for what the 3.8 Track model costs, which undercuts BMW 3-series coupes substantially.

i think it looks great with the sequence front lip. don't even need an aftermarket grill or go all black. doesn't bother me at all. actually it's my favorite part of the car.
anyway rspec like that costs 23k. the best looking 23k coupe IMO.

Of course it was a clear Genesis coupe commercial spot.
Seems like the Insight was being plugged as well.

I was referring to the V6 version which runs over $30k. That's a lot of dough for a car that's slower than its competitors. I'm talking stock, not for modding.
Yes I agree, for the modders, the I-4 turbo version would be the better candidate.
To me though that grille is ugly if you go anything other than black... the grille is just too tiny. Also the rear looks ricey, looks more like some older model Hyundai Accent. Also the wheelbase is too long for a sportscar... it should have been shorter and smaller all around. This car is huge in size. When I looked at the pics of the GeneCoupe before they were released I liked it. But now the more I look at them, both in pics and in person, the more I dislike the car... I seriously think the 2011 non-hybrid Hyundai Sonata looks better by a thousand miles..... it's a massive night and day difference.![Stick Out Tongue](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)

but it definitely needs a power upgrade. i'm hoping the turbo will get 274hp like sonata and 350+ for v6.
and i won't ever understand your 'accent' comment..

I am bumping this thread b/c Hyundai really needs to be patted on the back for producing this car. I'm at car meets/events weekly and to see how many people bring out a Gen coupe, many modified is really awesome. It brings a KDM flavor to the scene and its great to now see these guys coming together at meets, etc.
Cheap RWD coupes bring an enthusiasm to the scene and brings people to the scene as well as the potential for mods. Hyundai really figured this out with this car.
Sadly I do hate the facelift, it changes the sporty front nature that flowed well into the car into a "WTF" moment
