The BMW looks more like wooden than rusty, while the CRX looks like real rust. Either way, I don't like it.

Ugh. I hate this trend so much. If I ever see anyone roll up in some rusted piece of crap with junk on the roof of the car I will automatically assume they have no taste and they have an IQ of a rock. I wouldn't want that thing near my car for fear of catching it's disgusting rust disease.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure this fad out. Like 99% of them, not my style at all. Not that I can afford to have a style.

ATM Inside is what I noticed. The BMW's rust has more quality to it, it has a deeper look. I would not trust the structural integrity of that [those] cars though.

Try not to think of it as rust, but rather 'applied oxidation' for lack of a better term. Not sure what the actual process on either of those is, but think of it as applying any kind of finish to metal. Be it paint, chroming, powder-coat, or what have you. So it's not structurally harming the metal itself, but just a top coating of some sort.

I guess if it doesn't affect the integrity of said material, it's fine. It's different, and as a car enthusiast, I respect that. Just not my cup of tea

I'm assuming it's some sort of treatment. Lot's of different ways to patina metals, ranging from coatings (like chrome), to chemical/acid type baths, and all sorts of stuff between.

Yea, except paint+rims+drop isn't that original anymore.
