Yes, the CTS wagon, V or not, is one sharp-looking car, inside and out. I took a brief look, in the showroom, at a non-V wagon several months ago, when I reviewed the Cadillac SRX.

I'm really surprised that I haven't seen more CTS wagons on the road.....even with its great looks, it doesn't seem to be doing as well as the sedan. Perhaps other people don't like the wagon styling as much as you or I do....or perhaps it's the price. It does carry a hefty price tag.......and you can expect quite a bit more for the V version.

I would say it makes just as much sense as a high powered sedan. What's the point of a high powered sedan? Go fast with more people. What's the point of a high powered wagon? Go fast with more people AND all your stuff. In some ways, a high powered wagon seems to make even more sense... you can have your cake and eat it too, and eat it TO THE MAX.

Not to mention the added weight out back usually plays in favor of said fast wagon's weight balance.

I had an 04 CTS and was pleased with it, except for the need for more repairs that I cared for. I really like the looks for the CTS wagon, but when I looked at one closely a couple months ago, found it to be too tight in the cabin and rear cargo area. Of course, 556 HP may help me overlook those shortcomings.

Was the old CTS interior up to your satisfaction? That's one thing I never liked on the old ones, and was vastly improved in the 2Gen models. Reliability, as you noted, was also spotty. The rear differential was a noted weak spot on the old CTS-V, and had a lot of early failures.

The 2Gen SRX offers a little more room overall, but is still markedly smaller than the 1Gen model, and, of course, doesn't offer the V powerplant. It's also higher-stance than the CTS, more SUV-like, and doesn't offer the same road manners.

Thank you Cadillac, that is the best wagon ever! Station wagons even high powered ones make great sleepers, beating many sportscars, yet still able to haul many people and their stuff.

I owned an 04 CTS and leased an 06 SRX, both with the "Lego" style dash. I guess I didn't mind it too much.

I looked at the 2010 SRX at the same time I saw the CTS wagon. The front seat area seemed comparable in size to the earlier SRX, but that was it. The front seats also seemed to be higher than the 1st gen SRX, which would make it a non-starter for transferring my wife from a wheelchair.

The dash really was Lego.

Wagons, imho, are for lugging kids and groceries or kids and the dogs. A 556 hp wagon is simply unneeded and will sell poorly. This type of vehicle might sell in Europe but they dont buy Cadillacs. Ask yourself how frequently you see M5 station wagons in the US.....exactly...they are not sold here because they will not sell here.

I would hope this CTS wagon would be more successful than the unpopular SRX-thing.

Big mistake. Save for a few enthusiasts and pornstar producers from Chatsworth, big-wheeled wagons are unpopular and Caddy's glitzy interior and retro exterior won't help. This is just another example of failed, old fart, Lutz-ish mentality: pool-cleaning car (proposed 2009 El Camino), GTO, Torrent, Aztek, HHR, and SSR idea, and why GM can't make consistant money (didn't you and I recently send money to this company?). Bake cars that masses of people ask for and want, not far-fetched nastalgic dreams that died their appropriate death when they were supposed to die.
Wake up GM. It's 2012, not 1968 and not 1983. If this is all you can muster up, go to the store and buy a clue.
