Default Any AE82/86 4A-LC guru's? Got a transmission question.

My parents are looking at a 1984 Corolla (AE82, vin plate says AE84) automatic, fwd 8V carb 4A-LC sohc. The engine runs like its brand new and fires right up, but the auto transmission is slipping and they would rather not deal with it.

My question is, can any FWD transmission from a AE82/84 with a 4A block bolt into place? I dont know much about the 4A blocks and transmission when it comes to fwd, so if someone can chime in and clear it up for me that would be great.

Thanks
