Default Toyota has a home run on their hands (2011 Toyota Sienna)

Spotted my first Sienna today while looking over Toyota's and Lexus' models at the dealer. Toyota has a homerun on their hands with the new Sienna.

Excellent styling.
Nice features
Large size
Solid Price

Interesting things I noticed were that the interior is very Venza like in quality (not a bad thing/not a great thing), all windows are Lexus like auto up/down, driver/passenger HVAC controls are done well with easy access to each side.

And thank god that the exposed seat anchors on the seats are now covered up....thank you, thank you, thank you.

It seems like Toyota has sacrificed performance/engine/powertrain and instead focused on smaller details that I myself have had issues with in the past regarding the interior.

I do need more extensive time with the Sienna to make sure materials are up to par as I didn't have a chance to play around with everything.

Well done Toyota

Did they keep the AWD option? That was the one feature that set off the last Sienna from virtually all of its competition...along with the smooth, quiet, Lexus-refinement.

the sienna looks good from the front and side to me, but the rear is not as well done as Id hope. Nonetheless, still a very good looking car.

anyone notice that the SE model doesnt get tacked on bumper parts like the LS but gets its own newly designed one piece bumper?

I didn't mind the back at all. But what it did remind me of was the Sequoia.

I noticed that too, but you gotta remember the Sienna is a new redesign and a sport model was probably anticipated hence why the sport package is more put together.

The LS probably wasn't designed to have a sport package in the first place. It was probably more of a last minute thing, hence why it has last minute tacked on body panels. The next gen LS Sport will probably have unique bumper front and back.

I saw a prototype of the new Odyssey at the Chicago Auto Show and it looks nice too. These two mini's should add some new life to the segment.

I think they are the only life of the segment.

The Chrysler minivans still sell well surprisingly. I think that's the only thing aside from the Ram that Chrysler sells in any volume (although last month I think like 80% of Chryslers sales were fleet sales or something like that...)

in the 90s, the dodge caravan was the one to beat. too bad.

but the VW routan looks really good to me (exterior, not interior)!

anyways, yes the honda odyssey concept looks good too.

funny it looks pretty bad in the pic you posted but I've seen other pics that make it look good. We'll see what the production model really looks like. Hopefully they don't uglify it...

Anyway, yeah the Routan surprising looks good even with the boxy Chrysler form factor. The Caravan/Town&Country twins are still selling better than I would have thought though. Chrysler is dying on the vine but there still able to sell thousands of minivans a month.

the Honda looks amazing as well as the new Toyota. I still think I prefer the honda styling but its a very very tight race

So if it's not up to par in your standards, is Toyota drop the Sienna on your account? Probably not.
