With that logic I could say that the iQ is a Lexus.

I think most would argue that the iQ looks "cooler". Totally subjective though.

It's disappointing that it's still a year away. I was hoping for late summer.

I have a feeling it be like C$16k seeing its slightly larger than a Smart Fortwo. I would be happy it be the same price or a little bit cheaper though.

I like it too but I disagree that it should come fully modded in stock form. Scion's are blank slates for the owner to personalize as uniquely as possible. Plus when it already comes looking custom, you polarize it.

Doesn't look as good as the Euro iQ, the changes they made to the exterior make it look too "Americanized".

With that said, I have no idea why people are complaining about the mileage.

Combined mileage is in the high 30s, which means highway fuel economy should EASILY be above 40 mpg.

This is going to get better fuel economy than a Smart, and it will likely be faster than a Smart too.

The fuel economy for the iQ is incredible, considering it's NOT a hybrid and not a diesel. It will have hands-down the best fuel economy in North America for a non-hybrid car. I expect the fuel economy will be better than the Golf TDI.

Exactly. I'm guessing maybe a 35/42 rating or so. Thing is, EPA estimates are often way underrated with the new system. The Yaris is 29/35 and most owners including myself average around 40 combined with city and without any special techniques.

So real world, people will probably get high 30's city and high 40's highway.

Maybe its just me but there is something in my brain that says a car the size of my shoe should get 50,60, 70 MPG. I guess I don't live in a city where parking is that important of a buying decision.

I was really amped for this but I dunno anymore.

Love this below!

People don't actually realize how good the fuel economy will be.

35 mpg EPA city and over 40 mpg EPA highway for a non-diesel, non-hybrid is incredible.

The iQ EPA city mpg will likely be as good as the Honda Fit's highway fuel economy.

Fact is, no gas engine vehicle will come close to the fuel economy of the iQ.

You have to realize the iQ, which is roughly the same size as the Smart car, is going to get better fuel economy, even though the iQ is a gas engine car, and the Smart is a diesel.

60 mpg, no matter how small a car is, is virtually impossible under the modern EPA rating system with a gas engine vehicle.

I can see why it might be expected.

Remember though that the iQ isn't a whole lot lighter than a Yaris and it is actually LESS aerodynamic. The front ends of the iQ and Smart are very blunt and on the highway becomes a hindrance. Most of the benefit of a car this small is seen in the city.

Even it's 1.3 liter 90 hp engine isn't that much smaller than the Yaris so why would it get that much more. On a side note, this 1.3 and even a 1.0 (70 hp) is available in the Yaris outside of the US.
