Hyundai Sonata Hybrid teased ahead of NY Auto Show

yes. study shows hybrid car owners spend 57% on highway. i think this will be priced lower than fusion too. fusion starts at tad lower than 28k, so i assume this will start at 27k and maxed out at 30k? that would be a very attractive package.
also fusion owners are reporting a disappointing real world mpg in many boards including fusion forum and edmunds. and Krafcik said on the media day that real world mpg number was the best whenever they tested against the competition.
there is absolulely no reason to buy camry, malibu or altima hybrid over this unless you are loyal to the brand because it's vastly superior on paper.

I think when people are mentioning the new Sonata looks kind of like an ES, they are referring the the previous generation ES330. Given I drive a 330 and have seen the new Sonata in person, I'd say there are some definite similarities.
The new Sonata kind of makes me think of what an evolved version of the 330 would have looked like if Lexus had continued down the same path when designing the ES350.

the cosmetic changes to the bumpers make it look like the biggest hybrid sedan in the 26k range, In fact, it's as if it's a full size hybrid sedan in the 26k range and that's a huge plus for hyundai.
the front hexagon bumper maybe too much for some but IMO that's what people want these days, the more explosive the front bumper and the stronger the stance then the better it is.
I'm very positively shocked by this hybrid, it really brings out an apeal that no other hybrids have...by leaps and bounds, and all for 26k!

I have to give Hyundai props for making the hybrid model look different from the regular model. Mainstream hybrid models like the Civic, Accord and Camry don't sell as well because people that are trying to be green want everyone to know that they're driving a hybrid car, hence the popularity of the Prius. If I were in the market for a midsize family sedan, I would definitely be checking out the Hyundais.
