yeah wood tastefully done. This looks like there's an aftermarket wood template on it.

York Auto Show: 2011 Infiniti QX56 priced at $56,700

As you can remember, on Sunday, 4WheelsNews got the first images with the brand new 2011 Infiniti QX but today the new SUV was officially unveiled at this year’s 2010 New York Auto Show.

Thew 2011 Infiniti QX56 2WD will go on sale for $56,700 MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) while the Q56 4WD will carry a price tag of $59,800. The new car carries a new 400 hp 5.6-liter V8 engine with Infiniti’s VVEL (Variable Valve Event & Lift) and Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) technologies. According to the manufacturer, the new engine produces 25% more power and shows 10% increase in fuel efficiency comparing it to the current model.

Also, a new 7-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode and Downshift Rev Matching is available, replacing the previous 5-speed automatic. Also, the new car features Standard Around View Monitor, upgraded Bose Premium Audio System and Automatic Temperature Control System. Regarding the advanced technology, the new 2011 Infiniti QX offers new Hydraulic Body Motion Control system, a Theater Package with dual 7-inch monitors, Advanced Climate Control System, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) and new Blind Spot Warning (BSW).

Other standard equipment includes the 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, power sliding moonroof, power rear liftgate, leather-appointed seating, power folding and reclining 3rd row seats, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth, Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation System with XM NavTraffic with Real-Time Traffic Information, XM NavWeather with Real-Time Weather and 3-day forecast (XM subscription required, sold separately) and Zagat Survey Restaurant Guide.

“This is a phenomenal vehicle at a phenomenal price point, especially given the enhanced styling inside and out and the impressive suite of new and improved standard features,” said Ben Poore, vice president, Infiniti Business Unit. “The new QX is designed to offer a true five-star travel experience, while providing the benefits of available eight-passenger seating capacity, versatile cargo space and 8,500-pound towing capacity. It sets a new standard in full-size luxury SUVs.

The main thing I dont like about it is the front. It doesnt look aggressive enough. Everything else, I like. For a SUV of this size, its a good thing it comes standard with the all around view monitor. Could come in handy. The interior looks great

I can't wait to see this vehicle in person this weekend. Infiniti has two new vehicles (M50/35 the other) that will create a buzz at the show here in NYC. Kudos to them.

The exterior looks better in some of those press pics. It's not bad and the interior is VERY nice. This thing is much better than the GX (which has it's own styling quirks and issues.........)

But one problem Nissan and Infiniti always have is that in PERSON the interior materials and fit and finish are always subpar..........

I agree holding the prices is pretty admirable as the features and interior are ten steps up over the last model. The last model was such a horrific drive, I did a 1sickreview and kept it in the moderator forum so any of Ghosen's illegitimate children didn't cry foul. It was horrible beyond measure. Very impressive MSRP that will only get discounts and lease deals.

What buzz? Nissan fans, b list rappers and 4 other people? At least they have a booth there, Dallas, Atlanta, LA and other cities had no Infiniti booth.

The GX isn't really attractive and I think the QX, while ugly, has a few more high end touches (yes some of the bling is overdone). The GX looks like it's overpriced by at least $10-20 grand. The QX can more easily pass for a $60~K SUV.
