extended warranty companies...need facts about these, not opinions
considering a used car that I might need to by an extended warranty for and found this list of the top 10 (supposedly). Yes I know some people think they are a waste of money....but if I can get 7/100K coverage for $1000 like I can for a Toyota, it might be worth it to me.
...so please chime in with your experiences not opinions with extended warranties. thanks in advance.
also -- I plan to check bbb.org before I would proceed.
Automotive extended warranties should be a very important part of one's budget. After the vehicle's initial warranty expires it would be wise to extend it because unexpected breakdowns can be devastating for one's finances. A warranty is collateral that is offered by the manufacturer or another insurance provider. This means that if the product or service fails you are entitled to have it repaired or replaced. Let's look at some of the top providers for automotive extended warranties.
1. Mogi
Mogi is a very recent entrant into the market of insurance. With their technological advances in terms of web based protection and support, Mogi has become the convenient and reliable choice of many consumers. Mogi offers several coverage plans for new and used vehicles. Each plan is tailored to the specific needs of the customer at the lowest rates possible.

3. CARCHEX

I would stay away unless it is from the actual car company that you are buying the car from.
My dad got hosed a few years back with an aftermarket company, more recently Toyota ECP covered his waterpump which was discovered defective during a timing belt change.

U.S. Fidelis, someone who worked for a Nissan dealer and in dealership for 7 years was selling a U.S. Fidelis extended warranty, for the 6th Gen Maxima, primarily for the transmissions, several people got them and put in claims and things worked out fine.
The guy who was selling them said it was among one of the top After Market Warranty Companies, that dealers like to deal with
