If i was single, I'd get the coupe... coupe looks 100X better than sedan.. make sure you get CPO BMW and you're set. Most likely you wont keep this car over 5yrs anyway. Plus BMW offer free maintenance for the first 4 yrs. My co-worker just got 07 328 coupe also, and loves it to death, however got into accident less than 3 days of owning the car. dont let that crap happen 2 u. he paid 26k at carmax for base model, I would shop around 4 fully loaded with Navi and Sport package. Co-worker is dummy anyways. I think Carmax is for chumps.

2 very different cars for different needs.
328 coupe - flashy, sporty, good handling, hard/uncomfortable interior, badass exterior
is350, comfortable, plush, seats the 3rd and 4th people much more comfortably, don't expect great handling but power delivery is decent. In my mind, more ergonomic and definitely more understated car.

BMW has a strong performance reputation that they have rightfully earned. It's in the reliability department and fit and finish after 5 years and 60,000 miles or so that the Lexus is superior.
I have tried many times to convince myself to buy a BMW but Consumer reports, my friend who was a Pre-Delivery inspector at a BMW dealership, and another friend's Dad who is a Master Mechanic, and reading through the BMW forums have (so far) conspired to prevent me from doing so.
Hands down I would most certainly and without a shadow of a doubt pick the IS350 over the 328i, 330, or 335 for that matter.

you can find a used 335i coupe for close to $25K if you look hard...[and personally I'd rather get a stripped 335 than a loaded 328].

Thanks to everyone for all the responses. I'm going to reread all your suggestions later and it will help me with my decision. Of course, in the end I plan on test driving both cars extensively and it will be a tough decision. Thanks again. I knew I could count on CL
