This guy is obviously new. Does he not remember "Precision Crafted Performance"? That was definitely a clear direction or goal. Acura when it first came out was supposed to be the Japanese affordable BMW IMHO. It was clearly on the right track in the late 80's early 90's.
What he should have said was Acura today, with all of us morons in charge don't know or remember the dream of Soichiro Honda, or we simply don't care anymore since he is dead, and thus why we have no clear direction today.

That was Acura's first PR slogan, back in 1986. I still remember the TV commercials.

Soichiro Honda's original principle, though (at least in the U.S.-market advertising) was to "Keep it Simple". The very Acura division, itself, was, to an extent, a move away from that.
