White with red as a close second, but I kind of agree with Phil, red does kinda say Ferrari.

Actually it depends on what brakes you get. The stock brakes are red, the pccb brakes are yellow, this actually effects my color choice.
For example I would not get a red car with yellow brakes, it looks to mcdonald's for my taste.
With stock red brakes, I pick red first, then white then black.
With the pccb brakes, I pick blue first, then black, then white.

I don't agree that red necessarily equate to any brand of car, including Ferrari. Bottom line, it has to look good with that particular model(not brand).
I have seen Ferrari's in other colors that I like even better than red, and I have seen red Porsche's that I like

Like British racing green, I dislike that colour with ANY car I've seen, you don't have to like it even though they usually use it as their official color, even if you are getting a British car.

Blue on a sports car energizes me. Red is nice too, but I'm always concerned that it conveys a sublimal message of mid-life crisis. To conclude, red is fine on a Ferrari, and I think you won't get tired looking at a blue porsche everyday.

Specifically a dark metallic copper (hey, at least I'm consistant)

I like white Carerras too, but not white Boxsters (they end up looking like a used bar of Ivory soap).
