Hyundai is getting very bold an adventurous in their design

this looks good, but I like the forte better.

It actually looks good and it has its own personality. Although I think Hyundai is making these new front ends of their cars a little too agressive/angry looking which might not be everybody's taste.

Post Interior

By Mark Kleis

Earlier this year, Hyundai used its home-market Busan Motor Show to unveil the replacement for its world-market Elantra, but the Korean automaker kept its interior an official secret.

We had spy photos of the Elantra’s interior – and of its still-unreleased 3-door hatchback variation – months ago, but Hyundai has just now released one production image of the new car’s dashboard.

Known domestically as the Avante, the new sedan follows closely in the automaker’s more shapely style language recently introduced in the all-new Sonata – both inside and out.

Introduced just days after Hyundai took the wraps off of its sub-Avante Verna (known in North America as the Accent), the Avante was by far the biggest premier at the Busan auto show.

Expected to go on sale in early Fall in South Korea, we’ll likely have to wait a few months before Hyundai unveils the North American-specification Elantra.

In Korea, the Elantra replacement is powered by Hyundai’s latest 1.6-liter direct-injected Gamma-series four-cylinder, the Avante also features a new six-speed automatic transmission. Hyundai says the motor is good for about 138 horsepower and will help the sedan be about 10 percent more efficient than its rivals, which include the Mazda Mazda3, Honda Civic and Ford Focus.

Look for the production world-market Elantra’s formal debut to likely occur in late September at the Paris Motor Show, with a North American on-sale date of late 2010 or early 2011 as either a 2011 or 2012 model. We don’t expect many styling changes between the North American variant and the Korean domestic market Avante, although North America is slated to receive a 200-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder as the top powertrain offering.

the only thing chrysler ever had going for them was the 300c, and that had a lot of mercedes benz influence. mercedes got smart and go the fug out.

chrysler has nothing before and beyond the 300c, nothing. pt cruiser ?

the ceo's were too busy in their garage salivating over thier classic muscle cars to even give a crap about their company.

can't compare to hyundai

This new Elantra seems to be following in that same trend of taking one successful design cue(Sonata) and having spawn develop from it. Pretty soon, Hyundai's "new, exciting" lineup is gonna become bland/boring because all of their cars are gonna start looking the same.

similar style with different sizes to cater to different segments is a good thing is the base design is strong.

look at bmw 3 5 7, mercedes c e s, small medium large with slight variations in style.

hyundai has never had that and has been all over the place for years with nothing to show for.

The new Ford Focus and now this car....wow they look great. Honda has to step it up a lot with the new civic. By the way when is Toyota going to change the Corolla...it is a bit outdated.

I think the Ford Focus and this new Hyundai are the best looking in their respective classes

wow.... Honda better have a really good Civic along the pipes (Toyota.. well it'll be a while since the Corolla was launched last year). The Focus and Elantra may be duking it out for top spot. They're both stylish and will be well equipped.
