Autobild comparison: Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10 vs Mercedes SLS AMG vs Porsche Turbo PDK
I've finally found some time to scan this comparison test from last month's Autobild magazine. I only bought this issue because of this test, as we're all interested in how the new Porsche Turbo and Mercedes SLS AMG perform.
I was expecting the Porsche to dominate - it didn't. All three cars were tested on two racetracks: the Sachsenring and Contidrom. The SLS surprised testers with its sharp handling and its raw power. In many corners the SLS was faster and even out-handling the Porsche Turbo. The R8 was always a bit a behind the two.
Overall, it was a duel between the two cars from Stuttgart. We know the Porsche Turbo is a seasoned performer, but the performance and above all the handling delivered by the SLS AMG tells us that the boys at AMG did their homework right.
1st place: Mercedes SLS AMG
2nd place: Porsche Turbo
3rd place: Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10

I had recently come across (can't remember right now which write-up) that the SLS was "disappointing" and "didn't have the road feel one has come to expect from McLaren" 
Sounds like this is completely in the opposite direction (especially against the Porsche turbo) and a very interesting (and inspiring) read... I've heard the waiting list for the SLS has grown to 15 months...
