Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words.

The gas mileage for a vehicle this size with diesel is nothing short of remarkable. We get as high as 32 mpg on the highway in our ML, but "only" get about 28 mpg in the X5. I expect this is due to the added power in the X5 and the 6 speed tranny (as opposed to the 7 speed in the ML).

On top of that, premium diesel is anywhere from 50 - 75 cents less per gallon than premium gas and it's a no brainer for us. We do more highway driving so the hybrid advantage isn't really there for us.

Nice purchase btw, glad to see you are enjoying it. It annoys me about the block heaters as well. Volvo don't offer it either because they apparently had many complaints about the extra $750 dollars charged for something rarely used.
Yes, that is the dealership that I'm referring to.

I actually have had a good experience with the sales guys and my SA's. Unfortunately, management is completely inept and the reason we bought the ML instead of the new RX. Had they simply fixed my IS F calipers that they damaged, we wouldn't have even been looking at something other than the '10 RX Hybrid. But, that was not to be, and I refuse to purchase a vehicle from them now.

Congragulations, and good luck with it.

I remember reviewing some new Mercedes and BMW Bluetec diesels at CL-member request.....I don't recall if you were one of them.
