I think they should have given the car the NISMO tag. I think the IPL name is kind of lame

Not caught up in peak HP figures. Will the car be as fast as a stock IS 350? Notice peak torque only gains 6lbs.

I assume with these parts added you are easily looking at a 50k G37 with the manual.

my sentiments exactly. They need to do something new with the IS motor. The IS is small, old and boring. At least infiniti offers a coupe....and a powerful coupe.

I know their previous M has massive tranny failures, just right after 50k miles...perfect timing!

and nissan is horrible at honoring warranty issues!

I wasnt aware of the tranny issues. My friend shane has a white one and loves it. He is a realestate agent so he abuses the crap out of the car with all of the mileage.

As far as warranty issue you are right. I hated Infiniti service quality. It was always a game of "is this normal". They would always make some BS excuse like " thats normal" or " That happens from time to time", or my favorite" Its probably the heat".

The design is bad.
The RS5 looks significantly better than the A5. This one looks worse than the standard G37.

The car is mostly rounded shape with curves, but why did they have to make all the add ons so sharp? Somebody mentioned shovel, I agree.

Completely wrong again. The IS line has been one of the busiest and fresh lineups around in ANY segment. The IS since 2006;

initially had 2 engine choices. e
came with the IS F, a 3rd engine choice.
came with F-sport parts 2 years ago.
IS then adds a convertible
IS got ANOTHER refresh for 2011. Did you forget that?
IS F gained a LSD. IS F got a revised suspension

Lexus IS F sport and IS F have offered driving events to enthusiasts to try the parts and cars out. Infiniti has the G37 coupe which Lexus does not have a direct answer for, this is 100% true.

While you continue to be focused on peak HP, no G37 is faster than an IS 350.

You clearly haven't driven an IS, let alone one with F-sport parts or an IS F. Calling the IS line boring is RIDICULOUS.

Not surprising though, just old.

Why should lexus be taking notes?

Isnt this the "F" equivalent of Infiniti? I dont see any "need" for this half assed performance category from them. An extra 20 horsepower and all of a sudden, we have a new performance line? Not going to cut it.

Sick, the point is not the peak hp figure, rather the fact that for what is essentially the F-sport equivalent, you ADD a couple of hp. doesn't really matter that it's 18. The point is, it's there.

So I guess some clarification here is needed.

Is this really an ENTIRE new sub-brand, or is this just similar to F-Sport, Audi S-line, BMW M packages, etc?

And vice versa. A G37 equipped with the 7AT or 6MT will not lose to an IS350 in straight line acceleration. And a G37 still has an edge around a circuit track.

This new G37 'IPL' should have absolutely no problem taking on a base IS350 and it should be interesting to see how it does against an IS350 with the F-Sport upgrades.

The base IS350, compared to a G37 or 335i, is boring. But that's just my personal opinion.

Looks horrible. So when is putting running boards on a sport coupe a good idea?! Makes you think the designers are not in touch with current trends and live in their own lala world.
