Which is funny b/c the Infiniti M35 is on the old person's list.

I guess its not what you buy but what you build. The older guys always check out my car at the gas station

Nicely done ^^. I'm old enough (mature) to appreciate that.

I'm sure I'm at the older end of the CL Lexus owner age spectrum. I don't read too much into age.

My IS350 is done in a similar understated way.

Lexus needs to seriously consider an AWD option for the ES. That is a major LaCrosse selling point, despite being less-expensive.

However, having said that, there are some obvious reasons why the LaCrosse costs less. Though improved in recent years, it still lacks the ES's flawless paint job, dealer-service, and higher-quality interior trim (in fact, the ES's interior, itself, is improved for 2010 over earlier versions). But the LaCrosse fires back with road manners that are a cut above the ES....the new chassis is superb.

Good point on the AWD option that would be a nice option on the ES and appreciated by some.

But the sales of AWD Lacrosse's probably makes up less than 5% of sales and doesn't equal the difference in sales volume over the ES.

I think we all have admitted we would like to see an AWD ES option. Also an AWD IS 350 should be coming this fall.

Thanks, Mike.....you might have just suggested my annual Holiday Review for December. That would be a good candidate.

Yes, I agree with conditions right now, going strictly by the numbers, but, in the future, AWD is going to become more and more of a luxury-car selling point, especially in bad-weather areas. That's why a number of upmarket/premium makes already offer it on many of their products......in Audi's case, on almost everything.

I must be a statistical freak at 50 with an IS-F and MkIV Supra (I also owned a Scion tC from '05 to '06). Oddly enough, I know a guy who is 24 and drives a Buick. He prefers it to anything but an older Mercedes (he owns three now, the newest of which is a '75). I suspect he's a statistical freak too.

In addition to being an attractive contemporary car, with 3 trim levels, 3 engine choices and FWD or AWD, the LaCrosse offers more choices for buyers than the ES.

The LaCrosse has to serve a wider role in the GM lineup and so far is doing it well.

Young people driving non-performance Buicks are indeed uncommon, but not rare. As I've said before, I had two of them myself in college. And one of my closest high-school friends drove his dad's Olds 88 regularly.

Like you, I also had an IS in my 50's.........I bought a new, bright-yellow IS300 at age 49 (that's how I joined CL), and kept it over 4 years.

I am a statistical freak too, given that I have a lightly modded IS350. My Porsches and Mercedes cars past/present are more in line with my age group I guess.
