Has anyone read the reason for this crash? Charges involved? What happened here? That Sentra driver should be in some serious S unless there was a blowout or something.
WOW that was an insane accident. I am surprised that the semi even swerved to dodge the nissan. He should have just run it over
If you look closely there was 2 hits. The first one was right at the back wheels, which did 2 things. Firstly, the initial hit threw the trailer into a different travel path as the tractor. Secondly, as I can only assume the trailer was fully loaded, shifted the center of gravity of the load in the trailer (load shift). The second hit was not a swerve. Look closely and you will see that she hit the truck right at the front side of the front wheel (area between front wheel and bumper). This is what forced the truck into a violent left swerve. Only thing that the poor driver could do was hang on for dear life. Had the wall been a little taller, than he would not have gone over like that and damage would have been constrained to only one side of the road.

the tractor on that truck is what is known as a daycab (truck with seats only and no sleeper section). Generally they are very lightweight, and weigh somewhere between 10K and 12K lbs. Lightweight coupled with shift in weight in trailer momentum will make things very messy.
