That's what I assumed but according to the link Scott26 (who I've seen to be an extremely accurate insider) clearly stated it would be a factory fitted folding hardtop, not a dealer-installed solid piece.

I'm a little intrigued by this 640 variant. I've always liked the 6er. I'm curious to see this when the tape comes off. Hopefully that interior will be much improved. IMO it was nothing short of hideous.

That 6 looks suspiciously like a bunch of "X"s

I agree. Soft top is a no no. Too ugly.

If a Lexus debuted as a softop as a 2011 model he would tell us how lame. BMW of course gets a pass by him.

That's b/c dashocker has magic powers like showing us a car camoflauged as "revealed" with red x's and also knowing things like how the 2012 G37 hybrid drives.

i still can't understand this at all. the 3 gets hardtop, even the m3. the 6 continues to be softtop? this is when the sc430 is hardtop (if you count it), the sl is hardtop, slk is hardtop?

Nice to see that I am not the only one who hates all of the new Bimmer front bumpers; quite a few on the E90 boards say so as well. I will have to reserve judgement on this new 6 series once the tape comes off. Not really feeling the current one as is, and the new 6 series is not coming off as all that attractrive as well; however I will wait until I get to see one uncovered.

Giantsfan,,, the pics work here,,,,

i saw it and also read the thread on e90post. but i still find it weird that it will be an option. it sounds so silly to me. why not just make it a standard setup for the convertible. i mean, we don't see soft top being an "option" for the e93

Yeah, that's what I had expressed in my original post in page 1. Just seems superfluous and a waste of resources if you ask me; who WOULDN'T opt for the hard top? (Esp when the soft top is THAT UGLY?)

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if it ended up being about that much...
