What is the 640, is BMW adding 5 to the 635 to make it sound better/different, does this mean eventually all 35 will become 40's

i think BMW is moving the "higher end" of the model lineup to the 40s again.
perhaps reminiscing the older V8 models (Except that these 40s will be the turbo-charged 6, not a V8)

The 3.0 turbo in the 7 series is badged 740. They simply badge the cars as they like, hell the S350 diesel is a S400. The 550 is really a 480 etc etc. The CLS is a sports coupe but it has 4 doors, the X6 is a sport coupe but it is a SUV etc etc.
As I posted before a guy asking in the 5 series drive event I was in "shouldn't it be called a 530" and the guy was told don't take it so literal.

I think you were trying to post these pictures?
Why a soft top AND an optional folding hard top? Why not just make them all hard tops?

I wonder if this one will also weigh in at close to 4400 lbs. Even the last gen M6 converticle didnt blow me away and I beat the crap out of that thing. Flogged it on some desert highways and twisty mountain road. Its fast but even close to feeling like it had 507 hp. The M6 is a fat pig and even a fatter pig in convertible
