Steering wheel mount is stupid, but I want to mount an iPad somewhere else so I can use it as a removable in car entertainment system. I already use Pandora internet radio a lot in the car and route movies off the iPhone or my sons iPod touch through the cars system either direct to the monitors or through the Alpine 505, so aside from am/FM radio, I could probably use an iPad to completely replace the car's headunit.

In the defense of the guy who invented the "patented" iPad steering wheel mount, it IS stupid but people do it anyway! Like putting on make-up, shaving, texting, etc. etc. while driving: it's proven to be STUPID but people do it anyway. So he is capitalizing on the dumb drivers of today!

At the rate tech in cars/screen size is going, I can foresee a large interface screen (like the pic) in most automobiles in the the future. So many options nowadays, Henry Ford is rolling around and around in his grave lol
