Default Drunk Woman does General Lee impression

Wish they had a better angle I would have like to have seen the approach and landing.

DALLAS - 22-year-old Yasmine Villasana of Fort Worth, Texas was arrested for drunk driving after she launched her Chevy Impala car at a toll plaza at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

Her car struck the toll booth protector barricade, launched into the air, landed back onto the roadway and then caught on fire.

Police said Villasana attempted to get back into her vehicle while it was still on fire.

In the police report, Villasana claimed she had only "one cranberry and vodka" the night before and that her car was rear-ended.

But the report stated that an inspection of the vehicle showed no evidence of that of being struck from the rear.

Villasana suffered a broken wrist in the accident. No one else, including the toll booth operator, were injured.

I just don't understand why so many people continually (and, in many cases, deliberately), break DWI laws. There is, IMO, simply no excuse for it, and no one can claim ignorance of the law. They are taught, from their childhood, the law, the hazards, and the consequences of drinking and driving. And, yet, they still, foolishly, refuse to listen. It's a classic example of "Me first........and **** everything else".

Some will claim that alcohol addiction is to blame. Fine......except that no one is forced to start drinking in the first place, and GET addicted. I simply don't buy that line.

(I probably sound like I'm just venting, and, to some extent, I am.....but this kind of driving nonsense, from booze, just keeps happening over and over again, needlessly, and it irks me even though I'd glad that, this time, nobody got killed or a life-threatening injury).

They should do the same to DUI offenders as they do to street racers. Get their car crushed if caught. I'm sure the number of people who break that law will go down. There's also a statistic that shows street racers cause less injury and death than those driving under the influence.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. There are a lot of street-racers, particularly in SoCal and the L.A. region, but, nationwide (and even in SoCal), their numbers are probably very low in comparison to the number of boozer-cruisers.

Remember WHERE this happened! TEXAS!! I'm sorry to say and hope not to offend other Texans on here since I'm new to Texas and lived here for 2yrs now.. Having lived in the Southeast (AL, GA, FL) all my life before moving here. Texas drivers are probably the worst drivers in the country in IMO, and i've talked to other Texans that are originally from NYC, CA, and SW areas of the Country and they all agreed that Texas Drivers are amongst the worst drivers you can find anywhere, if you don't believe me, come and visit Houston sometime..
