It was $986...
it has to be an error. LOL, I just hate going to the dmv to correct it... they should pay me for their mistake.

Wow! That's crazy expensive for you guys down there....even if it's only $350. I just paid to register my F and our ML...cost me a whopping $150 for both of them.

It's expensive here... the thing is, now I have to visit the dmv line. I might as well smog my car first then get the renewal sticker there. I could have just paid online - if the amount came out correctly.

California !, I'd gladly pay an extra fee to get the CARB off my *** though.

You know these tag fees from different states are ridiculous. I believe in TN its a flat $20 fee which is great. I mean damn $20 times a few million people = enough.

In GA its basically a tax based on how new/expensive your car is. So I've seen $700 or so tags and $40 tags based on the car year. Then they sell special tags that cost extra, processing fee.

Its pathetic and disgusting.

Hah Mike, that's exactly what I thought: even my $69 registration fee for my plates times a couple million or even a newer car's $200 or so would be "enough" that doesn't seem to be the case.

Hopefully you go to the DMV when there isn't much of a line. If I recall, summer time is usually busier in Cali for the DMV?

Oh you can pay online, damn the lines.

I wonder what the rape on the LFA tag would be here.....

Yeah well, if his $1k fee on a 9 year old car is incorrect (which it must be) he can't get that fixed over the internet.

Well not just LF-A but any other supercar would be rape. But considering you can pay for the initial price tag... surely you have a mere $5g's to spend on registering the car

Here in FL is getting expensive I used to pay like 36 for the year, no smog here, then jump to $100 and now they are going to raise it more, I just bough my sc300 transfer tag and tittle on my name cost me $220 because I have my own tag, for new tags and tittle transfer is around $450 and that is if you buy the car for $500 more expensive cars people pay more on tax.

Personal Property Tax is essentially what it is... you can deduct car registration on your income taxes if you itemize.

Still quite ridiculous.

Are you sure that you have to get in line in the DMV to get the error fixed? or you just like to visit DMV? How about phones and DMV website? I've called DMV and the wait isn't too bad...
