2.) Volkswagen Owner

Typical Conversation: "Actually, Volkswagen fixed a lot of their reliability issues years ago. Yeah, it runs great! You really should go try one."

I miss that guy.

10.) Toyota Prius Owners

Suggested By: theart

Typical Conversation: "You really should get rid of that regular car. You know I get 40 miles per gallon? And that's just around town!
lol I just found out I get about 33MPG in my 1986 MR2 city driving and flooring it a lot, changing gear at about 3-4k rpm constantly. Including random autocross events(car's still near stock.)

Oh, and for my GS, one time I have to say, "No, it's a 98 Lexus, not a limo." lol (tinted, lowered, 19s, curtains)

I agree with all of them except the Saab one. I've never met a Saab owner who would even know what rally racing is.

The Subaru one... I've never met anyone like that in person, but I've seen plenty on the forums. Also, I drive a WRX and I'm not annoying.

Personally, I'd throw in GTP owners. Every GTP owner I've met drives like a d-bag. Most of them think their car is the fastest car in the world. I've got a few friends who have them who constantly tell me how they "Raped a (insert much faster car) last night."

But yours works too

Guess it despends on how old the Saab owner is. The older Saab 3-cylinders were quite well-known on the rally circuit.

I can still remember, from my first service-station job out of high school, filling them up with a mixture of 8 gallons of regular leaded gas AND a can of factory-approved oil in the gas tank for their 2-stroke engines. The engines had a strange, funny, high-pitched whine to them that was unmistakable.

Absolutely priceless this line for the Subie owners, "Dude must've called 'em, told 'em where I was... Sore loser."

Valid observation because most of the actual middle aged owners of those rally-proven cars are no longer driving or living for that matter:

The Saab 96 was driven most famously by Erik Carlsson, in many international rallies. His most famous successes were first in the 1960, 1961 and 1962 RAC Rallies and first in the 1962 and 1963 Monte Carlo Rallies. Depending on that group of previous buyers for repeat purchases would be a EOL business strategy (which may be where Saab is headed).

One thing I forgot to mention in my last post (which I should not have forgotten, because I test-drove one but didn't write it up) is that Saab also sold the 9-2X Aero, which was a Saab-ized version of the Impreza WRX, a classic rally car. I don't know, though, how many 9-2X's were actually driven in rallies.
